Trick or Treat!!!

Funny story...I was getting Addison ready for trick or treating tonight and I asked her what she needed to say when she went up to people's doors. My daughter's reply? She got right to the heart of the issue and said "how much?". That's my girl! Needless to say, we taught her the appropriate phrase and had a great time gathering candy along with her cousins Cole (ninja) and Kyleigh (butterfly).

Treasure

Our basement caught on fire yesterday. Long story short, everyone is fine and all we have is some smoke damage but let me tell you, something like that makes you think. I always felt like I would have time to get certain things out of the house if we ever had a fire...right. Brandon was busy trying to put out the fire and I grabbed the kids and ran out of the house after calling 911. (Thanks for getting here so fast, guys! Forest Fire Dept. rocks!!) There was no time for anything other than escape. Scary. Makes you re-evaluate what is important and what's not. Wedding albums, important documents, cars...all of it means nothing. If we had escaped with just the clothes on our backs, it would have been okay. My family means more to me than any of the stuff that fills my house. Don't get me wrong, I am so grateful that everything in our house is fine but I am even more grateful for Brandon and the two children God has given me. They are amazing.

ABC's & 1 2 3's

Myles and me

Yeah, he can fly...

He loves his bath...loves pooping in it too...gross

He's going to love me for these someday

So cute when he sleeps...

...and when he's awake too!

Huh???

I've got SO much to write about! We've had a full week and I'm going to try my best to fit it all in without writing a novel.
  • Addison has had a fever all week...that's the only not so fun one so I figured I'd get it out of the way! She took her baby doll's temperature and announced "40 lbs!"
  • Addie went pee-pee in the potty at our house this week...we're getting there!
  • Addie went poopy in her big girl undies today...ok, so the fever wasn't the only not so fun news : )
  • We (Brandon, Addison, Grandma T & I) carved pumpkins yesterday and had so much fun.
  • We also made two pumpkin pies and two apples pies. So much for watching our weight.
  • Addison said her ABC's yesterday for the first time-so smart!
  • Myles is officially one month old today!!!!
  • Myles is still doing great. Starting to hold his head up more and definitely staying awake more. He's been cooing at us all week and his whole face lights up when his daddy talks to him. It is absolutely adorable. I can't believe he's a whole month old now!!

Not too bad, eh?

Nothing says "fall" like carved pumpkins and thermal pj's!

Caramel Apples and Sugar Cookies

Fall is here! I was feeling in the "fall mood"one night in the last week or so and had Cheryl and the kids over to make caramel apples and decorate sugar cookies. We had so much fun!

Addie's version of caramel apple making (don't worry...stove's off)

Cole cutting out sugar cookies while Addie & Cheryl butter wax paper for caramel apples

Kyleigh & Addie decorating cookies

Some of our cookies

Bring on the cold weather...I have footie pj's!!

Have sweater...will smile!

All we need now is a sweater like Addie's!

Family Update:
Everything is going just fine around here. Myles is still doing a great job eating and sleeping. He's always excelled at pooping! I'm excited for when he can do more than the three basics, but I certainly am not wishing this phase away either. I remember thinking that once we hit the three week mark with Addison, she became so much more aware of us and the major feeling of "Oh my gosh, we have a baby!" became less panicked and more filled with awe. : ) We certainly didn't have as much panic this time around, but I still feel like the three week mark was monumental. Myles is awake more of the time and is enthralled by the lights in our house. We are still amazed that he is ours and that we have TWO kids! Speaking of two kids...Addison spent the last week at Grandma T's house with Papa and Aunt Sarah where she helped make bread and pound chicken for dinner. She had tons of fun and even went pee-pee on the potty TWICE!!! She has a little fever right now, so I'm trying to keep the kids separated from each other. Good luck, right? I'll keep you posted...
